Kenneth Branagh to Direct Kate Winslet in The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

This project has been in the works for awhile, but it’s exciting news nonetheless. And the fact that Branagh and Winslet are slated to be involved doesn’t hurt.
It’s also a good opportunity for me to recommend this novel, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, which was not only one of my favorite books read in 2010 but probably one of my favorites overall. My wife just finished re-reading it, and I’m probably going to take another swipe at it soon.
I owe a debt of gratitude to my friend Tammy Thompson for recommending it and to our book club for voting it in. Otherwise, I might not have picked it up.
