In 2009, she received her MFA degree in writing from Spalding University, studying fiction and creative nonfiction. At Spalding, she served as a student editor of The Louisville Review. In addition to her first book—The Mother’s Book of Well-Being—Lisa’s writing has been featured on public radio, literary and popular magazines, and in the anthology The Fourth Genre. Born in Rapid City, SD, Michelle Ladner is the daughter of a Thai immigrant and was raised an Air Force brat. She graduated in 2009 Magna Cum Laude with departmental honors from the University of South Alabama, obtaining a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing. She was the fiction editor and editor in chief of Oracle Fine Arts Review in 2008 and 2009, respectively, and completed an honors thesis pertaining to subjects in African American literature. Since then, she’s been fine tuning her craft in South Mississippi and enjoys the time at home with her husband and three spoiled cats. She’s currently working on Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romantic Suspense, and YA manuscripts as she navigates the adventure of seeking publication.
